Week 1
You knock on doors with Carys.
Three evenings on doorsteps in Treorchy and Tonypandy with Carys, then a members’ evening in Aberdare to hear what members ask before they join.
With

120doors in your first week
Most households in the Rhondda pay too much for heat, and almost none of them own anything that could fix it.
Brightfield has 3,400 member households, most of them in the Cynon Valley and Merthyr. In the Rhondda there are 180, and whole streets still heat with 20-year-old gas boilers.
The Community Organiser signs up the next 1,000 households, street by street: doorsteps, chapel halls, school gates, and the first members’ evening the Rhondda has had.

Why this seat matters
“Nobody knocks on our door unless they’re selling something. When she said I’d own a share, I asked her in for a cuppa.”
Bethan Hughes, new member, Treorchy
