Why this seat matters
“I rang in Welsh and got an answer in Welsh, from someone who knew my street. That’s why I voted.”
Dafydd Rees, member since 2019, Cwmdare
Members can only run their co-op if they understand their bill, their install and their vote.
3,400 households own Brightfield. They ring about bills, installs and votes, and about one in five would rather talk in Welsh. Right now one advisor covers every Welsh-language call.
This role answers members in Welsh and English, explains the surplus vote before each AGM, and makes sure no member signs up for an install they don’t understand.
